The LEP class chair and chair-elect both must be approved by the Chamber Board of Directors.

One position is reserved for a member of the most recent LEP class who may be elected by class participants. Other committee members may be selected through self-nomination, referral by employers or professional acquaintances, and by reputation. The Chamber President is an ex-officio member of the committee,
Chamber employees may be invited to join specific sessions in which their expertise will be helpful and may be asked to become permanent members of the committee.
B. LEP Class Members of the Committee- LEP classmates elect one representative to the committee. By mid-year, class participants should self-nominate for the committee position of the next year, at the discretion of the next chair, the current class may then vote on the selection.
C. Community Members of the Committee- Remaining LEP committee members are selected at the discretion of the incoming class chair in consultation with the President of the Chamber. Committee members should be:

The Chair and Chair-elect also are members of the Board of Directors, which require attending monthly meetings.
The Chair will automatically become a member of the Chamber's Executive Committee.
While securing meeting venues and contacting speakers is the responsibility of the program coordinator, each committee member is expected to contribute ideas for discussion topics, names of potential speakers or contacts and appropriate venues or tours. Leadership classes are not intended to serve as a venue for self-promotion or the marketing of any committee member or supporting business or organization.
