FAQ:
A few facts on the Star:
The Chamber has operated the Star on the Mountain for several years, however, until recently, it was owned by the Electric Company. The Chamber's Foundation is now the legal owner of the Star.
What does my contribution pay for?
It pays for the direct cost to light the Star for the evening.
When you light the Star, you will receive:
A Star Certificate for the honoree or their family.
A beautiful, handcrafted, Star lapel pin.
Will my announcement appear in the El Paso Times?
The El Paso Times has had a long relationship with the Chamber, and voluntarily includes the Dedicate The Star, as a community service announcement. The El Paso Times receives all Starlighter information on a weekly basis, and every attempt is made to follow-up and make sure that the information is published. We do not have a contract with them; therefore, the information we provide is published on the basis of available space and upon the editor's approval. The Dedicate The Star will be posted each and every evening on the Greater El Paso Chamber of Commerce website on the front page.
The $50.00 donation that the Chamber charges pays for the direct cost of lighting the Star, not for ad space in the El Paso Times.
